Grant from Highlands-Cashiers Health Foundation Supports Juvenile Collection Revitalization
We deeply appreciate the support of the Highlands-Cashiers Health Foundation, a foundation that believes that "by working together, we can lift and sustain the overall health and well-being of everyone who lives, works and plays in our treasured mountain communities."
The Highlands-Cashiers Health Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to the Friends of the Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library in 2020. The goal of the grant is to substantially revitalize the juvenile section of the library. With the proceeds from this award, the library acquired new and important state-of-the art materials to improve opportunities for learning.
As a result, youth in our community now have new resources which may assist them in choosing a career and which will open doors in the areas of technology, science, and biology. The revitalization included the purchase of Spanish titles and has had, and is expected to continue to have, a real and positive impact on the youth within our community. Our library now offers more robust, relevant materials, enabling it to promote healthy, educated youth within our community.
Thanks to the HCHF for trusting the library as an essential part of our communities' well-being.
