LOCAL CHARITIES ANNOUNCE GRANT SUPPORT FOR THE CASHIERS COMMUNITY LIBRARY
The Friends of the Library appreciates the grants it received in 2022 from these local charities:
• The Cedar Creek Club Charitable Fund’s grant will enable the Library to acquire more quality books and periodicals for children and teenagers. The library will use this grant to cover the annual cost of purchasing age-appropriate books from the Junior Library Guild.
• The Church of the Good Shepherd’s grant will expand the library’s collection of Large Print books, which are increasingly in demand. The Large Print collection is an essential print resource for those with vision difficulties or print decoding difficulties.
• Cullasaja Women’s Outreach (CWO) made a grant for general operating support. The Library plans to use the gift to support the Summer Learning Program, Altogether Now, which celebrates kindness, friendship, and unity. The Library will also use the funds to pay the cost of the maintenance contract on the Library’s audio video system and for other important Library needs.
• The Wade Hampton Golf Club Foundation’s Donor Advised Fund’s grant will enable the library to pay for e-Resources, specifically e-Books and digital audiobooks, as well as Large Print books. Both the demand and the cost for these materials has increased significantly in recent years. The grant will have an immediate impact on the Library and its patrons, and enable the Library to expand its digital collections and Large Print collections.
