Our Library is the Heart of the community
LOCAL CHARITIES ANNOUNCE GRANT SUPPORT FOR THE CASHIERS COMMUNITY LIBRARY
Several local charities announced grant awards to the Friends of the Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library that will go to support the community library in Cashiers. In reaction, Branch Librarian Serenity Richards said, “This community continues to be the most supportive and generous community I have ever had the pleasure of serving. It truly is an honor to be a recipient of such a wonderful tradition of giving.” Cathy Maddock, President of the Friends, thanked all the grantors for caring about the community and the future of Cashiers. “As we know, libraries are a reflection of a community and as a nonprofit we at the Friends are totally dependent on community support. We thank you for your contribution to enable us to continue our work for what we like to refer as “Our Crown Jewel of the Community.”
